Our Winter Food Drive will be happening from 7 June – 5 July.

“For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor…” 2 Corinthians 8:9 (NIV)

Jesus was born into ordinary Palestinian village life, worked with his hands, spent about 3 years on the road, called people to return to God rather than get caught up in the things of this world, and, as he died, his executioners cast lots for his clothes. The apostle Paul’s assessment is he impoverished himself for us.

Christians know that his death can deliver us from the penalty and power of sin. We also know that his death is a compelling example to give generously to the needs of others.

This July, we’re collecting non-perishable food items and toiletries to support the work done by Christian Community Aid (CCA) in Eastwood.

Winter can be extremely hard for those who don’t have the resources to meet all its demands. Will you join us to help? There’s a list of suitable items above. Donations must be in-date and un-dented!

They can be placed in the collection boxes at the rear entrance to St Dunstan’s (114 Lovell Rd) and the rear of St George’s (100 Balaclava Rd). Please DO NOT place items in or next to the clothing bins.

We would like donations of Non-Perisable food and toiletries such as,

  • Cans of soup/meat/fish/vegetables
  • Packet soups
  • Pasta and pasta sauces
  • Tea, coffee & long life milk
  • Breakfast cereal
  • Baby food
  • Disposable nappies
  • Toiletries

Any questions? Let us know and we’ll get back to you!
